Testimonials
Hello, fellow members of Women’s Marijuana Movement! My name is Crystal and I have been asked to provide a brief introduction to WMM’s Testimonials page. Having just launched my own effort to encourage people to be open about their use or support of marijuana, I was thrilled to be given this opportunity.
Let me start with a short and sweet summary of my own testimonial: I smoke marijuana. I am not ashamed of this, nor am I embarrassed. And, frankly, I’m tired of being made to feel like my use of marijuana is “wrong.” Some people like to have a glass of wine or a martini to relax... I prefer marijuana.
You can find my entire testimonial HERE, and I hope you will also provide one, too, and let others know why YOU support ending marijuana prohibition.
What is your story?
Perhaps you use marijuana too. Or perhaps you're not a user, but have seen the hazards of alcohol and believe we would be better off as a society if people simply had the legal option to use marijuana instead of alcohol. Whatever your reason is for supporting the Women’s Marijuana Movement, we want to hear from you.
Click on the “Submit a Testimonial” button below and share your feelings or your experiences. You can be as anonymous as you like. Just try to keep your testimonial to less than 500 words. People are not likely to read anything longer.
Please know that this is an extremely important part of the Women’s Marijuana Movement. We want to post these testimonials as a means of encouraging other people to open up, either here or in their own communities. So if you have something to share that you think might inspire someone else to speak out, please don’t hesitate to submit it.
Thank you for being part of this historic movement!
I am 25 years old. I started smoking pot when I was younger. I used to hide out in the back yard or take a drive to the park when I needed to de-stress. I have dealt with extreme stress since I was in elementary school, which caused me to get stomach ulcers. I have also battled insomnia since I was a about 4 years old and began getting migraine-like headaches when I was 19 due to a neck injury. I was not able to smoke regularly until I was 22...

Hi! Great site, love it. I'm 50 years old, been smoking off and on since I was young. I have no children but I do have a husband named Moose who is an incredible drummer. I have been a lead guitarist for numerous bands over the last 25 years as well as a draftsperson (civil, survey, and landscape), supervisor, and professor of music theory and music technology at two different colleges in North Carolina (not all at the same time). My mid...

I am a 19 year old nursing student. In my education about the medical field, I have also come to learn more about medical benefits from marijuana: facts that are completely shocking to me after years of anti-marijuana campaigns in high school or younger. I believe in marijuana reform now. Not just for the benefits already proven, but also so that we may possibly find more and bring better health to our country. No one should have to use...

I am a 54 year old woman who weighs 93 lbs. Six years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in my hips and neck. Since then, I have lost 8% of bone mass. As we age we lose bone mass naturally. If you are small, like myself, it happens even faster. To combat this, I must do weight bearing exercises and several miles on a treadmill as much as I can. This MAY help prolong the devastating effects from Osteoporosis. This causes pain. Severe pain, at...

I am a 42 year old female, mother of two. I have smoked pot since I was 19. I did not smoke for 5 years, while I was either pregnant or nursing my babies. I started smoking again after they were both out of diapers. I need to smoke for anxiety, stress, migraine headaches, and insomnia. I can always fall asleep after smoking. Before me, my father grew and used. I support legalizing marijuana. I believe alcohol is much worse of a drug than pot. I...
